Bryce Harper Continues To Dominate NLDS With 2 Home Runs Against Braves

Braves Shortstop Orlando Arcia's Comments Provide Motivation for Harper

Bryce Harper put on a show in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, hitting two home runs and leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-1 victory. After the game, Harper said that he was motivated by comments made by Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia in the clubhouse after Game 2.

Arcia's Comments

In the post-game press conference after Game 2, Arcia was overheard mocking Harper's baserunning. He said that Harper was "slow" and that he "couldn't believe" that the Phillies had signed him to a long-term contract.

Harper's Response

Harper said that he heard about Arcia's comments and that they "fired him up." He said that he wanted to show Arcia and the Braves that he was not the player that they thought he was.

Harper's Performance

Harper's performance in Game 3 was nothing short of dominant. He hit two home runs, both of which came off of Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz. Harper's first home run was a solo shot in the first inning, and his second home run was a two-run shot in the third inning.

Braves Frustration

Arcia was clearly frustrated by Harper's performance. He was seen yelling at Harper from the dugout after Harper hit his second home run. Arcia was also seen arguing with umpires after Harper was awarded a walk in the fifth inning.

Harper's Message

Harper's performance in Game 3 was a clear message to the Braves. He is not the player that they thought he was, and he is not going to let their comments get in his way. Harper is one of the best players in baseball, and he is determined to lead the Phillies to a World Series title.
