Jason Kidd Named 10th Head Coach of Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have appointed Jason Kidd as their new head coach, making him the 10th in franchise history. Kidd, a former NBA All-Star and Hall of Famer, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Mavericks.

Kidd's illustrious NBA career spanned 19 seasons, where he played for five different teams and won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. After retiring as a player in 2013, Kidd transitioned to coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks before becoming the head coach of the Bucks in 2014.
Under Kidd's leadership, the Bucks made three consecutive NBA playoff appearances and finished with the league's best record in the 2018-19 season. He was named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2020 and resigned from the Bucks in 2021.
Kidd joins a Mavericks team that is looking to build on its recent playoff success. With a young and talented roster led by Luka Dončić, the Mavericks believe that Kidd can guide them to their first NBA championship since 2011.
